Part 1: How to Order Your PIN Code

The xentry.top system is a 7/24 automated server designed for technicians and savvy owners who need their codes immediately.

Step 1: Identify Your VIN

The most critical piece of information is your 17-character VIN. You can find this on:

• The dashboard (visible through the driver’s side windshield).

• The B-pillar (driver’s side door jamb).

• Your vehicle registration or insurance documents.

• Technician Tip: Ensure there are no typos. The PIN is mathematically generated based on this VIN; a single wrong digit will result in an unusable code.

Step 2: Access the Automated Portal

Our interface is streamlined for speed:

1. Select Your System: Choose the appropriate NTG generation (e.g., NTG7).

2. Enter VIN: Input your 17-digit VIN into the field.

3. Select Map Region/Version: Choose the region (e.g., North America, Europe, Southeast Asia) and the specific version you intend to install.

4. Instant Checkout: Use the secure payment gateway. Because our server is linked directly to the database, the delivery is instant.

Step 3: Receive Your Code

Unlike other services that require manual intervention and hours of waiting, your code will be displayed on the screen and sent to your email immediately after payment. Keep this 6-digit code handy for the vehicle installation.

Part 2: Step-by-Step NTG7 Map Update Procedure

The NTG7 system is the most advanced MBUX unit. While it supports Over-the-Air (OTA) updates, these are often slow and limited to small regions. A full database update via USB is the professional way to ensure your system has the latest POIs and road geometry.

Phase 1: USB Preparation

1. The Drive: Use a high-quality USB 3.0 or 3.1 drive with at least 64GB of capacity.

2. Formatting: Format the drive to NTFS or exFAT. (NTG7 systems are modern enough to read exFAT easily).

3. Data Placement: Copy the map update files directly to the root of the USB drive. Do not place them in a subfolder. The system looks for files like map_data or metainfo at the top level.

Phase 2: The Installation Process

1. Vehicle Power: It is best to have the engine running or a battery maintainer connected. If the battery voltage drops too low, the MBUX system may shut down, potentially corrupting the update.

2. Insert Media: Locate the primary USB-C data port (usually in the center console or under the armrest). Use a USB-A to USB-C adapter if necessary.

3. Recognition: The NTG7 system will detect the update media within 30–60 seconds. A pop-up will appear on the central OLED display: “Software update available. Would you like to start the update?”

4. Enter PIN: Select Update. The system will now prompt you for the Map Pin Code. Enter the 6-character code you received from xentry.top.

5. Data Transfer: The update will begin. On NTG7 systems, this typically takes between 30 to 50 minutes. You can continue to use the vehicle’s other functions (climate control, radio) during this time, but do not turn off the ignition.

6. Finalization: Once the bar reaches 100%, the system will prompt for a restart. Confirm the restart. Your navigation is now updated to the latest version.

Part 3: Troubleshooting & Technician Advice

Common Issue: “The code is not recognized”

If the system rejects the code, check the following:

• Version Mismatch: Did you order a PIN for Europe V22 but tried to install Europe V24? The PIN is version-specific.

• Region Lock: If you have an imported vehicle (e.g., a Japanese car in Europe), the head unit’s region must be converted via OBD coding before it will accept a local map PIN.

• VIN Typo: Double-check the VIN provided to the server against the VIN shown in the “System Information” menu of your MBUX.

Common Issue: “USB Drive not detected”

• Port Selection: Ensure you are using a “Data” port. Some USB ports in the rear or second row are “Charge Only.”

• Drive Quality: Mercedes head units are notorious for being picky with USB brands. If a generic drive fails, try a SanDisk or Samsung branded drive.
